JORY WONG

Vale Coffee
940 Main St.
Valemount, B.C. Canada
2023

This mural is a contemporary celebration of the many ways we live, play, and explore in the mountains. Using a continuous line as the foundation of the composition, I aimed to create a sense of flow, movement, and cohesion—echoing the connections people may form through a shared love of the outdoors. This hand-painted acrylic piece invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences in nature and the collective spirit of mountain communities.

BIO

Jory Wong is a self-taught artist, high school art teacher, and lifelong lover of all things creative. Originally from Vancouver, she now lives in Valemount, BC, where she is surrounded by the wild, rugged beauty that inspires her work. Jory primarily paints in watercolour and acrylic, drawing inspiration from time spent in the backcountry. Whether it’s an alpine meadow or the way light filters through the trees, her work seeks to capture the subtle details that make a place or moment feel special. When she’s not teaching or painting, she enjoys exploring new creative outlets, including digital art, jewelry making, and pyrography.
